Hammond Fishing provides both inshore backwater light tackle and deep sea fishing trips for the fisher person that wants to have fun catching fish. The name of this business is "Captain Jim's Fun Fishing" and that is descriptive of what our customers experience. We have been in business for over 20 years and have the best fishing guides in Northeast Florida. We apply the extra effort to make sure you are having fun. Our trips can be for groups from 1 to 6 persons in the river and backwaters and up to 35 persons in the ocean. We have several inshore backwater light tackle river fishing boats from Amelia Island to St Augustine Beach Fl, including Fernandina Beach Fl, Jacksonville Beach Fl, Ponte Vedra Beach Fl and Sawgrass.  With so many boats to choose from at several locations, you can find a boat close to your location. We also have several larger deep sea ocean boats from 24 to 65 feet in length. All of these fishing trips can be customized to fit your needs, with trips from 4 hours to 12 hours. We catch species, like redfish, trout, flounder, sheepshead, sharks, tarpon, snapper, grouper, sail fish, tuna, mahi, barracuda and more.

Capt Jim Hammond's boat is a 27 foot long 9 foot wide backwater river boat that can handle up to 6 passengers and fishes the river, the backwaters, the jetties and the ocean on nice days. This boat is so stable it is like fishing on a dock and  needs less than 1 foot of water to float so we can get in the backwaters for those skinny water fish.
