So far this has been a good week. The winds have cooperated and no rain. The fish have also cooperated with big cathces of reds in the river and creeks, a few nice trout and a few flounder.
All of the trout have been between 17 and 20 inches and most taken on the MirrOlure Provoker and the Exude Shrimp.
The flounder have all come on the Exude Shrimp, both glow with a chartruese tail and root beer with a chartruese tail. These baits have been fished on a Jaw Jacker 3/8 to 1/2 ounce jig and most have been worked slowly around rock piles of docks. The bite on the Exude Shrimp is not like that when using live bait, it is a pretty substantial THUMP.
The offshore boats have reported catches of snapper and grouper in close.
The sheepshead are starting to bite just a little, but won't be long before a good bite is on.
